Every Valley - The Messiah (G. F. Handel)

Every Valley - The Messiah (G. F. Handel)

Handel's Messiah is an exquisite musical work work. It is great pleasure to sing thescriptures set to music in such astounding beauty and charm. The majestic approach of the baroque era diving into the classical period makes the timbre and character stand out and reveal the real beauty of the scriptures. This was written in 1741 and the text comes straight from Isaiah 40:

"Comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the Lord. Make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted. And every mountain and hill made low. The crooked straight, and the rough places plain."
