Lady Windermere's Fan

Lady Windermere's Fan

Lady Windermere's Fan, A Play About a Good Woman is a four-act comedy by Oscar Wilde, first produced 22 February 1892 at the St James's Theatre in London.
The play was first published in 1893. Like many of Wilde's comedies, it bitingly satirizes the morals of society.

The play begins with Lord Darlington visiting Windermere's house. His intention is to reveal a situation to Lady Windermere. The conclusion of Act One emotionally spreads Lady Windermere and Lord Winderemere far apart.

Lord Darlington's plot has begun to work in Lady Windermere's mind. The developments of Act Two are much more revealing of Lord Darlington's real intentions with Lady Windermere.

Mrs. Erlynne becomes the catalyst for Lady Windermere to doubt her husbands loyalty during her own birthday party at her own house surrounded by her very best friends.
